Tanokuchi god of Sai Festival
A traditional event dedicated to the god of Sai. Residents weave large zori or sandlas, then wrap them around trees asking for sound health. The god of Sai is a god that prevents invasions of demons. It is said that he protected the area from misery and protected people’s feet.
This festival is usually from 8 AM to noon and is held at Tanokuchi, Hidaka-cho, Toyooka.

Kannabe Winter Mountain Opening
Prayers are offered up at a ceremony for the safety of skiers, snowboarders, and visitors to the mountain.

An autumn festival held in honor of Ase Valley’s beautiful autumnal leaves. Walk through the forests while enjoying the fall foliage. There are usually various bazaars to enjoy too.

A festival held at the base of Kannabe’s volcano. There will be fireworks in the evening, dance performances, many delicious food stalls and prize drawings.

World Geopark Trail Run
Runners run along a nature mountain trail in the highlands of Kannabe. The course will take them down the mountain to Naomi Uemura Memorial Park, Up Kannabe. There are three main events, the 58km, 40km, and 10km runs.
The race starts in Kannabe from about 7 AM

Tajima Dome Festival
Inside Kannabe’s large all-weather dome will be a flea market, performance competition, lots of local restaurants with food stalls, and more.
There is free entrance for everyone.
