At the “Gosho Inaba Honke” , the main family house of a wealthy merchant family, located in Kumihama City, you can visit a reproduction of the mansion of the Inaba Family, who came to enormous wealth through a shipping agency business and coastal trade, which was started using the money earned from manufacturing malted rice in Kumihama during the Edo Period. The main building was built 130 years ago, and is a nationally registered tangible cultural property. At the restaurant “Ginshou-Tei,” which has a history of 215 years, you can enjoy bara-zushi (sprinkled sushi) and a freshly-made staple, “bota-mochi” (rice cake with sweet bean taste).
You can also purchase local Kumihama souvenirs at the shop.
There is no entrance fee.
